I just received a call about a Long-eared Owl and possible C. Redpolls from Levi Hochstetler, owner of Hochstetler Milling (log houses). He mentioned that if anyone needs these two species for January, they are welcome to come and try on Monday or Tuesday (not on Sunday please). To get to the office, go to the intersection of Ohio Rts 95 and 60, between Loudonville and Haysville in Ashland County. From the intersection go east on 95 up the hill - the Hochstetler Milling is on the left - go to the office and ask for information about the birds. Thanks to Levi for opening this to Ohio birders. And please don't go until Monday. You can also call me if you have any questions - I plan to be there around 8 on Monday morning. 330-317-7798

On Saturday evening at 5:15 or so there was a adult or near adult Glaucous Gull at Clear Fork Reservoir south of Mansfield in Richland County.
