Went looking for the Eurasian Wigeon and Greater White-fronted Geese recently reported at the Fernald Nature Preserve. All available water is currently iced over, and the only waterfowl I saw were Canada Geese flying overhead. Warmer temps this weekend should thaw the thin skim of ice, and Gary Stenger promises to post if the birds return.
I did see two Northern Harriers and a Rough-legged Hawk, as well as a nice assortment of sparrows (White-crowned, Song, Swamp, and American Tree) so the trip wasn't a total waste. Very cold out there in those open fields - dress warmly if you go.
