I didn't know how far south snowy owls would go until I received a
Christmas card from longtime friend, Jim Hoffman, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He
wrote that "Got to see a Snowy Owl here in Oklahoma a few days ago, and
that was quite the treat." Jim, formerly a resident of Cleveland, is the
person who discovered Ohio's only Ivory Gull along the Cleveland
lakefront on December 17, 1975. The bird was present for three days.
