Stopped at Dillon Reservoir (Muskingum Co.) on the way to a (successful!) twitch trip for the Jefferson Co. common ravens.  

Best viewing is from the dam off State Route 146.  Scope required:

pied-billed grebe - 1
double-crested cormorant - 1
great blue heron - probably at least 100
Canada goose - 2 (only!)
wood duck - 1
mallard - about 15
black duck - about 5
bufflehead - 2
hooded merganser - 6 or 8, scattered 
bald eagle - 1
red-shouldered hawk - 3 (1st winter chasing what I presume were its parents)
American coot - 4
ring-billed gulls - between 200 and 300
herring gulls - 3 or 4
Bonaparte's gulls - 5 (at least, that's what I think these were)

Also seen around the reservoir:
northern flicker
tufted titmouse
white-breasted nuthatch
American crow
European starling


Most of the shallow water was ice-covered, but there is still a LOT of open water, especially nearest the dam.
