Hi all,
Sorry for the delayed post, but Brian Zwiebel and I spent a few hours at Toledo's Woodlawn Cemetery late Saturday afternoon. The White-winged Crossbills that have been present for a month or so did not disappoint. We saw a flock of about 15, which included a few pink adult males. They put on a great performance, and allowed excellent looks.
I made some photos of the crossbills, and even managed a few shots that show the curious tongue-flicking seed extraction process. The photos and story is on my blog: http://jimmccormac.blogspot.com/
Hopefully the Woodlawn crossbills will stick around for a while yet. They make for quite a show.
Jim
