Because nobody has reported this species in a while, I thought I'd post this
second-hand report:
I just received a call from Mike Champagne, a Michigan birder making his
third attempt at seeing the Black-tailed Gull. He finally found it from
Lakeshore Park in Ashtabula around 2:00 this afternoon. He first located
the bird in the water, and then watched it fly to the roof of the blue
building, where it settled down between 2 Herring Gulls for an excellent
size comparison. The gull was still present when he left around 2:30.
