Today I was sitting in the Nordinia Hills Library parking lot eating my
lunch. Just off to the north through some trees I could see two hawks flying
very fast and very close together in the distance. One appeared to be
chasing the other. Eventually they separated. One came through the trees and
slowly glided right over the parking lot. It was a red-shouldered hawk. It
was really beautiful against the blue skies in the bright mid-day sunshine.
I got a good look at it. The other hawk, a red-tail, circled and rose high
above the parking lot. I am guessing that the red-tail was chasing the
red-shouldered hawk. I watched the red-tail with my binoculars above. I
didn't see where the other hawk went to the south.
