Greetings all -

Immature Bald and Golden Eagles can cause confusion. First and second year immature Bald Eagles show varying degrees of white on the underparts and can show markings that Chris describes previously. On this bird, no white patches were seen on the underwing, which juvenile Golden shows. I would strongly suggest that he saw a young Bald Eagle. For birds in question, wing shape, proportions, and flight style help massively.

Best of birding!
