Too nice of a day to stay home! Especially since I work tomorrow. Headed up to Dike 14 Nature Preserve as I haven't been there since it opened to the public. Disappointing in that the eastern half is off limits to the public; thats where allot of good habitat is. Are there plans to open more trails? Still a great day to be out. Highlights:
C.Redpoll- 2, one very pink-breasted male
Redwing- 1
Canada Geese-51
Lesser Scaup- 1
Pied-billed Grebe- 2
Downy Woodpecker- 2
Coots- many

Stopped at Sims park on the way home. Highlights:
Blue Heron- 1
Bufflehead- 1
C. Goldeneye- 13
Mallards- 2
Ringbill Gulls- 14
