Here in Yellow Springs (near Dayton in southwestern Ohio) we have had a
wintering group of 25 or 30 Turkey Vultures, fittingly roosting in trees
behind the local nursing home. They were here until about a week ago, when
they headed off for parts unknown, probably moving north. In my experience,
it is unusual for us to have large groups of TV's wintering here, but the
winter has been so mild that apparently they've liked it here.
