At Summit L. (in Akron, Summit Co.) yesterday 3/3: 7 lesser scaup, 2 c. goldeneyes, 36 hooded mergansers, 3 ruddy ducks, the wintering common loon (still in basic plumage), and a pair of red-tailed hawks.  In Mahoning Co. on 3/3 -- bufflehead and 4 horned grebes on Evans L.; hooded mergansers, 38 red-breasted mergansers, and Am. kestrel at Pine L.; 2 Am. wigeon and 2 n. shovelers at a Poland Twp. pond; great horned owl on nest and 2 pileated woodpeckers in Lowellville.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
