Sightings have been gleaned from the Ohio list-serve, rarebird.org,
Cincinnati Bird Sightings Log, Bobolink Area RBA (330-763-5119), Facebook,
eBird and other sources. 

Species in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS ARE REVIEW LIST SPECIES. Details of these
sightings are desired by the Ohio Bird Records Committee. Careful
observation, not ornithological expertise, is the only qualification for

Greater White-fronted Goose - Killdeer Plains, Wyandot continues to host
numerous including twenty-five on 10 Mar (Alex Greene). Other reports
include one at Spring Grove Cemetery, Hamilton on 10 Mar (m.obs), three at
Bluffton University Nature Reserve, Allen on 13 Mar (Linda Houshower), and
one at Cruiser Park, Franklin on 13 Mar (Rob Thorn)

Snow Goose - Five reports from around the state including twenty-three off
Lake on 11 Mar (John Pogacnik), twenty-two at Thomas Wetlands, Paulding on
11 Mar (Scott Myers), two in Marion on 13 Mar (Richard Bradley), two in Ross
on 15 Mar (Tom Bain), and ten at Bluffton University Nature Reserve, Allen
on 15 Mar (Linda Houshower)

Ross's Goose - Two reports; three at Cowan Lake, Clinton on 9 Mar (Rick
Asamoto) and one at Buck Creek SP, Clark on 10 Mar (Doug Overacker)

Eurasian Wigeon - Rick Asamoto reported one at Cowan Lake, Clinton on 9 Mar,
which remained through 11 Mar (m.obs), Neill Cade discovered one at Fernald
Preserve, Hamilton on 11 Mar, which remained through at least 14 Mar (Bob
Powell), and a third was at Wright Marsh, Wayne on 11 Mar (Lukas Padegimas
et al)

Surf Scoter - One report; two remain at Caesar Creek SP, Warren through 11
Mar (Rick Asamoto et al)

White-winged Scoter - Three remain at Circleville Quarry, Pickaway on 11 Mar
(Jay Lehman)

Golden Eagle - One was observed at The Wilds, Muskingum on 12 Mar (Bruce
Simpson) and another was observed in Richland on 14 Mar (John Herman)

Thayer's Gull - John Pogacnik observed an adult off Lorain on 10 Mar

Iceland Gull - An adult was observed of Lorain on 10 Mar (John Pogacnik) and
another was found in a farm field in Erie on 11 Mar (Gabe Leidy & Emil Bacik)

Lesser Black-backed Gull - At least 10 reports throughout Ohio, mostly along
the lakefront. Sightings away from Lake Erie include one at Pine Lake,
Mahoning on 10 Mar (Craig Holt), four in a farm field in Erie on 11 Mar
(Gabe Leidy & Emil Bacik), one at Clear Fork Reservoir, Richland on 11 & 13
Mar (John Herman), and one off Rt. 2, south of Magee Marsh, Ottawa on 13 Mar
(Ethan Kistler)

Glaucous Gull - Two reports; John Pogacnik observed an adult off Lake during
a lakeshore waterbird survey on 11 Mar and John Herman had one at Clear Fork
Reservoir, Richland on 13 Mar

Snowy Owl - One remains at Ashtabula Harbor as of 14 Mar (John Pogacnik)

Northern Shrike - One remains at Egypt Valley WA, Belmont through 11 Mar
(George & Kelley Banish, fide Scott Pendleton), one was at Wyandot WMA,
Wyandot on 11 Mar (Nicholas Fensler), and another was at Water C. Best
Preserve, Geauga on 11 Mar (Dan Best)

Common Raven - Scott Pendleton observed one north of Cadiz, Harrison on 8 Mar

White-winged Crossbill - Two reports; eight remain at Oak Hill Cemetery,
Wyandot on 11 Mar (Tom & Jackie Bain) and six in Lake on 11 Mar (John Pogacnik)

Common Redpoll - Several reports including two in Wood on 10 Mar (Lance
Makeel), one remains in Ottawa on 11 Mar (Hugh & Judy Rose, fide Ethan
Kistler), thirty-five in Lake on 11 Mar (John Pogacnik), two remain on South
Bass Island, Ottawa on 11 Mar (Lisa Bohl), two in Summit on 14 Mar (Clyde
Witt), and sixty near Painsville, Lake on 14 Mar (John Pogacnik)
