The current discussions about early migrants reminded me of my visit to
the hummingbird migration map a few days ago.  I was surprised to see
the first hummers had already passed through NE Ohio ( I live in Kent)
about 3/20 to 3/22.  I then looked at all the historic maps (links at
bottom of this year's map) and noted that the rough-guess average first
appearances are around April 15.  They must be fleeing the IRS ;o)  I
noted only one instance of a March date in all the maps, and that seems
suspect.  Here is the map -
