Got a call from my friend Curt Dusthimer, who wanted me to know he saw
three yellow-crowned night-herons at the usual Columbus spot yesterday,
so apparently my apprehensions were uncalled for. When we were there
today, we saw maybe twenty guys cleaning up yards. Except for the
occasional birder, yard workers are just about the only visible human
presence on the ground on this neighborhood, and perhaps the birds were
spooked, Anyway, they're back...
