Hi,

Now that I'm no longer posting from my phone, it is easier to give more
detail on the Say's Phoebe:

This appears to be the 6th or 7th record of this species in Ohio.  All
previous records have been in the fall or winter.  We did not get to
Headlands Dunes SNP until about 1.  We asked Ray Hannikman about the bird,
and he said it had last been seen around 11 on the edge of the dunes.  We
walked out the the dunes and as soon as we began looking, Andy Jones,
relocated the bird and called me over.  We observed the bird as it ranged
over the entire dunes area, from the dunes pond to the beach, and from the
NE edge to the SE edge for about 40 minutes until it appeared to go to the
beach side of the dunes.

When walking the dunes please stay on the pre existing paths.  This is a
location where very rare and endangered Ohio plants are found. If you don't
initially find the bird be sure to walk the beach side of the dunes.  Keep
in mind this is a species that likes open areas, so it is favoring the
dunes rather than the wooded areas nearby.
