The change in the weather has brought us a fresh group of migrants.

A stop at the South Bass Island Lighthouse yesterday brought the following:
yellow-rumped warblers
chipping sparrows-a flock of about 30 settled in the trees
white-throated sparrows-abundant
song sparrows-abundant
ruby-crowned kinglets-a flock of about 20
a pair of possible savannah sparrows
sharp-shinned hawk
in addition to usual American Robins, red-winged blackbirds, and common
grackles, there also seemed to be a new influx of brown-headed cowbirds
working the field there

A stop at the Jane Coates Wildflower Trail yielded:
rufous-sided towhee
lots of yellow rumped warblers
yellow-bellied sapsuckers
flyover by northern harrier from direction of quarry
lots of ruby-crowned kinglets
This morning at the trail saw flocks of white-throated sparrows and what
looked like a brown thrasher from the glimpse I got.

Wildflowers are blooming like crazy with blue phlox at peak
