the Great Horned owl babies in Perry County have gone through a dramatic
color change in just the last few days. Saturday morning, they still
appeared mostly white and down covered. This afternoon, they were a medium
gray and quite beautiful. When they sit on the edge of the nest, they are
about the size of a Barred owl, and still have their raccoon masks. In the
bright afternoon sun, they were truly beautiful. I'm really enjoying this,
just in case that's not evident.
