Sorry for the delayed posting; I had reports last night that the adult Red-throated Loon in nonbreeding plumage, was successfully found throughout the day yesterday. At 9AM Jeff Harvey found it off Mark's Landing, Dan Sanders and Doreene Linzell also from Mark's Landing around noon, Shari Jackson at around 4PM, and Jeff Harvey and Shari again at 7PM. Jeff and Shari both had their late sightings at what we call Red Maples Landing, the parking lot off the end of Hanna Drive. Jeff said he and Shari had the Red-throated Loon at times, close enough to shore, that binoculars were not needed. Wish I could have been there with my camera. Mark's Landing is on the southeast corner of the lake and accessed off of SR172. To reach Red Maples Landing go west from Mark's Landing on SR172 to Hanna Drive, Edling's Country Store is on the corner, follow Hanna Drive till you reach the water, turn right and follow the shoreline to the parking area. Scope the lake. If anyone sees the Red-throated Loon today let me know, or post your sighting.
