Two crows were harassing a long eared owl while a red tailed hawk sat 24 
inches above the owl's head. The crows would peck at the owl, or landing 
on its back for a second. Surprisingly, they ignored the hawk.  This 
continued for about 45 seconds. I thought the red tailed hawk was waiting 
for an opportunity to have the owl for dinner. But suddenly, he went after 
one of the crows. Then the trio flew off to continue their drama 
elsewhere, leaving the owl in the evergreen tree. He stayed put for about 
10-15 seconds before deciding to go and find a better hiding place 
elsewhere in the park. 
This drama occurred in the evergreens at the begining of the beech trail, 
very near the restroom for that picnic area.
