My drive to/from work this week along the Scioto River has been highlighted
by Bonaparte’s Gulls in breeding plumage. I’ve seen these pretty gulls from
the Home Road bridge north to the US42 bridge. This morning I stopped along
SR 257 at the Oller Cemetery and crossed the road and got to hear them
calling to each other while they perched on a log in the middle of the river.

This same location has been hosting a flock of ~30 Double Crested
Cormorants, but I haven’t seen them for a few days.
