This morning(Friday the 13th), Bill Kinkeid,Jason Simonis and myself 
visited several locations northwest of Columbus. We had 70 species for the 
day. It was dusk when we left Springville Marsh so were unable to bird 
Killdeer Plains.  

     Buck Creek St. Pk. (N.W. part of lake at mudflats off Grant Rd.) 
          Pectoral Sandpipers  Mudflats very dry    

     Kiser Lake (West of Urbana)  
          1 Swamp Sparrow,2 Yellow-throated Warblers on wetland trail 
          2 Greater Yellowlegs and 1 Osprey east end of lake. 

     Indian Lake
          RB Gulls, Bonepartes Gulls and 5 Caspian Terns at Fielder Beach. 
          Purple Martins @ S.W. part of lake at their gourds.

     Fish Hatchery east of Grand Lake St. Marys 
          RBGulls,Bonepartes Gulls, Shovelers, Bald Eagle, 3 Common Terns  
          Red-breasted Mergansers on E. end of lake 

     Mercer Wildlife Management Area (S.W. of Grand Lake ST. Marys) 
          Pectoral Sandpipers, 1 Lesser Yellowlegs and 1 Golden Plover on 
          small island on the pond, which is directly N. of parking area.

     Small fairly newly constructed impoundment on W. side of lake on W. 
     Bank Rd. just S. of Monroe.
          7 Buffleheads,Ring-necked Ducks, 1 greater Scaup, Lesser Scaups,
          Red-breasted Mergansers,1 female Surf Scoter, Green-winged Teal

     Manley Rd. (W. of Rockford)
          2 Savannah Sparrows and 2 Lapland Longspurs in breeding plumage

     Bressler Resevoir
          Many Ruddy Ducks, Coots and 1 Common Loon

     Findley Resevoir
          Many Ruddy Ducks and 8 Common Loons

     Springville Marsh (N. of Carey on Rt. 23 and W. on T24)  This is a 
     wonderful tract of Marsh habitat with a nice long looping boarddwalk.
          Many blackbirds with Rusties mixed in, 1 Swamp Sparrow, 4 
          Wilson's Snipes and 6 Pectoral Sandpipers.


NOTE;  On the different bodies of water there were Pied-billed Grebes,
       Blue-winged Teal and 3 or 4 Horned Grebes.  Also there was a "Stay 
       out" sign along S.E. edge of the small new impoundment.
