Taking advantage of a nice afternoon (with a few not-so-nice days in the forecast), we biked several bikepaths in NE Columbus. First we did the Alum Creek bikepath from Easton up to Westerville (the Screech Owl spots) for an hour and a half, then did the Woodside Green-Academy Park strip along Big Walnut Creek in Gahanna for an hour. Still lots of temperate migrants, with highlights of

Sapsucker - 1 at Tanager Woods along Alum Creek
White-eyed Vireo - 1 calling in Alum Creek Park in Westerville
House Wrens - many different locations on both paths
Ruby-cr.Kinglets - 4 scattered along the Alum Creek path
Gnatcatchers - lots, with 12+ along Alum Creek and another 6+ in Gahanna
Hermit Thrushes - 2 in the riparian woods of Woodside Green Park in Gahanna
Yellow-throated Warblers - many, with 5+ along Alum Creek and another 3 along Big Walnut in Gahanna
Black-thr.Green - 1 singing at Casto Park along Alum Creek near Westerville
Yellow-rumped Warblers - still common, with 12+ along Alum Creek and another 8 along Big Walnut in Gahanna
Pine Warbler - 1 singing along Big Walnut Creek in Gahanna
White-throated Sparrows - lots, with 40+ along Alum Creek and another 25+ along Big Walnut in Gahanna

We checked both the old truss bridge and the tree-hole, but could not locate any Screech Owls along the Westerville portion of the Alum Creek Trail. Does anyone know when these were last seen, or if they are still around?
