I birded Black Hand Gorge paved trail in the rain this morning, for a little over 3 hours.  I had six species of warbler, and two new year-birds.

Here is what I saw:
Canada goose
turkey vulture
mourning dove
belted kingfisher
red-bellied woodpecker
downy woodpecker
pileated woodpecker
eastern phoebe
yellow-throated vireo
blue-headed vireo (FOY)
red-eyed vireo
blue jay
American crow
Carolina chickadee
tufted titmouse
white-breasted nuthatch
Carolina wren
blue-gray gnatcatcher
ruby-crowned kinglet
wood thrush (saw 4 at one time, feeding on the trail)
American robin
gray catbird
brown thrasher
European starling
Louisiana waterthrush (at least 6 seen/heard)
black-and-white warbler
hooded warbler
northern parula
yellow-throated warbler
black-throated green warbler (FOY)
eastern towhee
song sparrow
white-throated sparrow
scarlet tanager
northern cardinal
red-winged blackbird
brown-headed cowbird
American goldfinch

Several of these represented Licking Co. firsts, although I had seen most of them on my camping trip in southern Ohio earlier this week.  Biggest surprise:  no Baltimore oriole or green heron - yet!
