   Before I start this month's list, I'd like to add one more species to last month's totals. We ended up with 63 species - not 62, as I forgot to list 2 Eastern Meadowlark seen during the morning count.

APRIL 01, 2012 - Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge Monthly Census.
TIME: 8:00am-12:40pm; 1:30pm-6:30pm TEMP.: 39-58 COND.: Mostly cloudy, overcast; winds NW during the morning then switching to NE in the afternoon at 5-10mph. ROUTES: Same usual morning & afternoon routes except where closed for eagle nesting. GROUP I: 5 persons; GROUP II: 7 persons.
