Greetings from Slate Run Metro Park!

I just saw my first ruby throated hummingbird of the year, about 2 pm Friday!  It was a male and he stopped at the feeder at the park office.  I hope he comes back again this afternoon.

I had heard real early reports of hummers throughout the state, but this is my first one.  I am sure there will be plenty of posts about everyone else's first hummers of the year soon too!

Slate Run Metro Park is part of the Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks.  It is in northeastern Pickaway County, about 7 miles south of Canal Winchester.  www.metroparks.net
