Subject: [Ohio-birds] Ferruginous

Hello all,

If my last post about the FEHA had any typos, I apologize. I was excited...I tend to act like a cocker spaniel when such a great bird is right in front of me.

(Candy: I was the redhead out in the grass, squealing like a girl.)

This bird is truly striking and beautiful...and there are ample opportunities to compare it to Red-tailed Hawks, as there are many sharing the fields with it, and occasionally sparring with it.

A scope is handy in this situation, but if you don't have one, be patient- it also hovers very near the observation area as it makes its rounds from the DHL building, to the runways, to the Delta hanger, to the field near the observation parking lot.
