Fellow birders,
I too have had White-crowned sparrows in the yard (Middleburg Hts., sw of
Cleveland) with their beautiful song, our first hummingbird was seen in the
yard yesterday (5/2) by my husband. First Baltimore orioles singing on
Sunday (4/29), Pine Warbler on Tuesday (5/1). Last night at 9:05 as I was
leaving the Middleburg Hts. Recreation Center on Bagley Rd. and I heard . a
car alarm?.nope, phone ringtone? . nope, how about a Whip-poor-will calling
from across the street! It called 6 or 7 times and I did not have time to
figure out which yard it came from otherwise I would have pulled into their
driveway . what a treat.
