Great mudflats have finally emerged with the draining of Lorain Impoundment, and they were teeming with sandpipers late this afternnon:

Black-bellied Plover  1
Semipalmated Plover  61
Lesser Yellowlegs  4
Semipalmated Sandpiper  60
Least Sandpiper  40
Dunlin  25

There is a orange "snow" fence being erected along the western edge, but no signage of any sort yet.

A Common Loon passed over Valley City (Medina Co) mid-day, today...seems like quite a few are lingering this year.

Good birding -
Gabe Leidy
Sheffield Lake
