This was an unexpected treat.  I was walking to the OSU Wetlands for some lunchtime birding when I saw a blue grosbeak on the south side of Dodridge sitting on some bare dirt associated with the current Dodridge bridge replacement project.

It was quite cooperative and I got very good looks at it.  I have no doubts about the id, though I never saw one before.
