Yesterday evening in a small stand of pine and spruce in a neighbors yard (bless the neighbor that doesn't keep an emasculate lawn) I saw two yellow-bellied flycatchers in the low branches. One was flycatching and feeding the other, thus probably a pair. This bird is seldom seen in migration, but is easy to differentiate from other Empidonax flycatchers by its all yellow throat and belly and behavior of constantly pumping its tail like a hermit thrush. This is a lifer for me - hard to find in the east.

The birds were in a private property S of the Hayden Run bridge off Dublin Road S of Dublin Franklin Co OH.

On another note the warbler migration here has been sporadic and species poor. It started out with good numbers the first week in May then just fizzled out. Had good looks of Blackburnian and numbers of black-throated green, yellow rumps and magnolia but no Cape May, bay-breasted, chestnut sided, N parula to name a few that we always get. From other posting on this list serve this does not seem true for other areas.

Sandy
