For a friend who's writing what looks like it'll be an interesting and
informative article on birding Big Days, I'd be grateful for free access
to any photos of these turn-of-the-century Ohio ornithologists out
birding together. They were the inventors of such pastimes as Big Days,
which they called "All Day with the Birds," and "horizons," which were
less competitive accumulations of daily bird sightings. They were fast
friends at Oberlin, and published separate works called "The Birds of
Ohio" in 1903.
