This morning Bob Sams photographed a basic (winter) plumaged Pacific Loon on the Findlay Reservoirs. Photos and directions and details on Rarebird.org, under the Toledo Rare Bird alert forum page. The Pacific is in the company of at least three if not more Common Loons in immature/basic plumage. Size, shape of head, bill, neck, and plumage details differentiate this bird from the larger, bulkier, heavy-billed Common.
