Hi all,

Someone called in to Black Swamp Bird Observatory to report a Wilson's Phalarope at Metzger Marsh. Sure enough, I just checked it out and there's a female in full-breeding plumage working close to the road near the second pull-off (after the 90 degree bend). Also present are good numbers of Black-bellied and Semipalmated Plovers, Dunlin, Least and Semipalmated Sandpipers, Killdeer and a Short-billed Dowitcher. It's worth checking Metzger several times a day for the odd shorebird.

Good birding,

Ethan Kistler
