Thursday morning I had a female Connecticut warbler in my yard at Lakeshore
Reservation. It was actually pretty confiding and fed along the edge of the
woods in the open at times. It was there a few minutes before disappearing
into the forest of jewelweed, never to reappear. The mix of warblers was
typical of late May with a couple mourning warblers, Canada's and Wilson's.
In all 17 warblers were seen. Other birds of note were a nice mix of
flycatchers with several yellow-bellied, lots of vireos with a couple
Philadelphia's. Also of note were a couple nighthawks in the evening. It
has been a couple years since I've had them over the yard.
