Last September list-member Gabe Leidy reported seeing hundreds of warblers
concentrated in the patchy woods along the Huron Pier - 21 species in one
day. The action was viewable from the wide concrete pier/sidewalk that
leads to the Huron lighthouse north of Huron.

No more. Chainsaws and bulldozers have turned about 5 acres of the prime
land into into no man's land. I went there Saturday and ran into another
birder - we just looked at each other and asked, what happened? Needless
to say, the bird action was scanty.
