Today was the best yard day of the year so far probably due to the
weather last night. I live in an urban neighborhood with a wooded
ravine behind my house that serves inner city migrant trap. Most of
my time was spent on my roof adjacent to a large Chinkapin Oak which
is a favorite of migrants. Warbler count will probably increase
throughout the day as birds start to sing more.
5 of the Blackburnians and 6 of the Baltimore Orioles were all in the
oak when I first checked it. Here is a photo of one of the
Blackburnians:

Highlights:
Broad-winged Hawk (Buteo platypterus) 2 flyovers, calling
Chimney Swift (Chaetura pelagica) 18
Red-headed Woodpecker (Melanerpes erythrocephalus) 1 (I believe
this is the 1st I have seen in the neighborhood over a span of 14
years)

Acadian Flycatcher (Empidonax virescens) 2
Great Crested Flycatcher (Myiarchus crinitus) 1
Yellow-throated Vireo (Vireo flavifrons) 1

Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica) 1
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (Polioptila caerulea) 2
Swainson's Thrush (Catharus ustulatus) 2
Ovenbird (Seiurus aurocapilla) 2
Black-and-white Warbler (Mniotilta varia) 1
Tennessee Warbler (Oreothlypis peregrina) 1
Nashville Warbler (Oreothlypis ruficapilla) 4
Blackburnian Warbler (Setophaga fusca) 7
Chestnut-sided Warbler (Setophaga pensylvanica) 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler (Setophaga coronata) 3
