Triple billing of sandhill cranes today in Geauga County.

Claridon Twp cranes were seen in what has been a usual haunt in the cow pasture behind Norm Zepp's barn on Aquilla Rd north of US 322. Two adult and one young.
Drive-by birding, no welcome place to park, so you may have to "crane" your neck as you go by.

The Burton Twp cranes were in the field on the WEST side of Rapids Road downhill (south) of Burton Village: two adults and two young.

While monitoring the prothonotary warbler (second) nesting situation on the Upper Cuyahoga River at Eldon Russell Park (further south on Rapids Rd - 1/2 way between US 422 and Rt. 87) two cranes flew over. Molting was obvious with missing wing feathers. Means we'll soon be seeing cranes in their classy pearly gray plummage vs. their dirty brown camo nesting plummage.
