Dave and all,

Yes, I have had Common Grackles kill House Sparrows as well, sometimes not
eating them. I do wish the grackles would do a number on the House Sparrows
that are decimating my leaf lettuce. The sparrows are tearing it to shreds
so I had to put netting over it. Geesh, and I thought I had most garden
eating critters out.

Subject: [Ohio-birds] Bay Village, Cuyahoga, Common Grackle

We have a common grackle that has killed a couple of house sparrows and eats
them...not
that I mind a few less sparrows. I've never seen this behavior here before.
Anyone else?
