The well-reported immature Little Blue Herons previously seen at Hoover
Reservoir were seen this afternoon. At about 5:00 pm, two birders (sorry, I
did not get names) reported two herons seen from the boardwalk. By the time
we made it out the boardwalk to the heron location, these birds had been
spooked by a young person who climbed down from the boardwalk to walk on
the mud.

Undaunted by this setback, a group of the Columbus Avid Birders then found
a single heron just north of the fishing access parking lot near the west
end of the Sunbury Rd bridge over the reservoir. To check out this
location, park in the parking lot (a couple hundred yards southwest of the
bridge itself and on the southeast side of the road) and walk *carefully*
across the road and slightly northeast. As soon as you come to the break in
the trees, look to the north.
