Yes, it's happened in my yard. Several years ago, I was sitting in my yard
when I heard a bird scream. I rushed to the back of the yard to
investigate, and a Grackle flew out from a shrub. I then saw movement in the shrub,
and found a dazed House Sparrow with a head wound. He soon recovered and flew
off.

I had previously seen several dead House Sparrows with their skulls bashed
in lying on my lawn, and had had no clue what had happened to them until
this incident.

I'm very curious if anyone has seen anything like this: This past
Saturday (June 30) we watched a Grackle attack an adult House Sparrow at the
feeders, kill the sparrow and eat the head. I've never seen any Grackle
behavior like this in my life. Anyone seen this?
