There is a large family of red headed woodpeckers in the large oak trees near the Avon Lake high school football stadium. 
The birds adults and juveniles were very active in several of the old oak trees on the south west side of the stadium. 
It is impossible to enter the parking lot from route 83. One must park in the lot off Electric blvd and walk to the football stadium.
