I just got a call from Jason Simonis. He saw 3 Avocets on the east side of Hoover Reservoir. He parked near the yacht club entrance and walked in and down to Pelican Island and then headed north. The Avocets were hanging out on a sand spit with the gulls and terns. After he spotted them, they did fly north a bit.
