I stopped by these two MetroParks for a few hours on successive mornings to see if I could catch an early migrant wave. No big windfalls were at either park, but there were some migrants at each, led by Wood Pewees and Catbirds. Swallows were surprisingly scarce, and warblers were in short supply. Notables included:

Green Herons - 2 were hanging around Shrock Lake at Sharon Woods
Hummingbirds - 2-3 at each park, and that was away from feeders
Chimney Swifts - 3-6 foraging over the woods of each park. One would hardly suspect that there are massive flocks already using chimney roosts in several parts of Columbus now.
E.Wood Pewees - one of the leading migrants both days, with 11 at Sharon Woods and 12 at Blacklick
Other flycatchers - still several Phoebes and Great Crested Flycatchers at each park; no empidonax yet
Vireos - 1 Warbling & 2 Red-eyed at SharonWoods; 4 Red-eyed at Blacklick
Thrushes - not much, but there was a Wood and a Swainson's at Blacklick
Mimids - lots of Catbirds, with 12+ at SharonWoods and 10 at Blacklick
Warblers - Yellow & Yellowthroats (4) at SharonWoods; Black&White at Blacklick
Buntings - single Indigos at each park, so no real movement here
Blackbirds - small groups of Redwings flying south over each park
Orioles - 2-3 Baltimores were at Sharon Woods, mostly near Shrock Lake
