I stopped at Pickerington Ponds this afternoon for about an hour, and founsd that water levels are extremely low. Everything is dry except for Ellis Pond and a small part of Teal Pond. Ellis had most of the activity, including 27 Great Egrets, 8 Great Blue Herons, 3 Sandhill Cranes, Canada Geese, Mallards, and Blue & Green-winged Teal. There were also some shorebirds, but not as many as I would've expected; they're still mostly at the east end of Ellis, which makes them difficult to see. Kildeer were dominant, but there were also Spotted Sandpiper, Lesser Yellowlegs, Pectoral Sandpipers, and Least Sandpipers. Teal Pond had much smaller numbers of herons & egrets, geese, and teal, along with some Wood Ducks and a Pied-billed Grebe.
