Julie Karlson, Larry Jeanblanc, and I visited Battelle Darby this morning.
There are still quite a few shorebirds on the two large ponds. We saw one
Buff-breasted Sandpiper and others reported four on the north pond. There
was a Black-bellied Plover first on the north pond and later seen on the
south pond. It was an adult that was starting to molt. We saw one Stilt
Sandpiper on the north pond. On the south pond we saw three Red-necked
Phalaropes and a Baird's Sandpiper.
