Not exactly the most birded areas, sod/turf farms are excellent places to
look for buff-breasted sandpipers, Am. golden-plovers, Baird's sandpipers,
etc. There used to be a large sod farm near Plymouth, Ohio where
buff-breasteds were seen every autumn in the early 1980s. Give it a try
sometime, especially in early September.
