A short time ago, at 11:50AM, my wife Denise called me to report an adult Snowy Egret, presumably the same one seen by Craig Holt on August 6, was still present at Evans Lake in eastern Mahoning County. The location is at the northeast corner of the lake on an exposed sandbar. To reach this location, go east on Western Reserve Road from SR7, turn right (south) on Springfield Road, and go to "The Shores At Evans Lake" on the right. Drive back in and look to the right (north) to view the sandbar. Some of the other birds of interest were 3 Caspian Terns, 2 Great Egrets, an immature Bald Eagle, and a Sharp-shinned Hawk.
