I stopped at these 2 downtown Columbus parks this morning and dodged an early rainstorm to bird them. Water levels along the river were fairly high, so only herons were well-represented. The list from 2 hours included
Great Blue Herons - 12
Great Egrets - 17, mostly above the Greenlawn dam
Black-cr.Night Herons - 3 adults, 1 immature, all above the Greenlawn dam
Green Heron - 1
cormorants - 8-10, all along the river here
Osprey - 1 hunting over bay above Greenlawn dam
E.Wood Pewee - 7 - they must be starting to migrate
Willow Flycatcher - 1 still in the fields north of the Grange Center at Scioto
Crested Flycatcher - 2 along bikepath above dam
Barn Swallows - 15+, in small groups
Cliff Swallows - 2-3 in the fields north of the Grange Center
Blue-gray Gnatcatchers - 7-8, also starting to move through.
Warbling Vireos - 2-3 along the bikepath north of the dam
Yellow Warblers - at least 2 in the fields north of the Grange Center
Baltimore Orioles - 2 males at different spots along the river
