Sorry for all of the brief posts from the road today. We just didn't want to take our eyes off the birds. Fantastic day of birding in NW Ohio. Started at Magee at the " new " estuary trail. Stars of that show were the whimbrel and three beautiful marbled godwits.
Ran into two of my favorite people on Duff Washa Rd and picked up 2 additional shorebirds for the day. Wilson's and Red Necked Phalaropes.
Made a brief stop at Medusa marsh along 269. Waterless and birdless. Worth checking though.
Next was Pipe Creek adding another red necked phal to the day as well as the continuing little blue herons. (2)
Decided to hit the Chausee on the way home. A pair of red knots were the highlight among many shorebirds. Not the easiest place to bird but worth the walk I guess.
In total 18 species of shorebirds today. Not bad considering I haven't birded since May. Good luck to my fellow chasers.
