I was at Villa Angela and Wildwood today from 9:30am to 3:35pm. The winds were WSW to W (12 to 16 to 12mph and other than a few rain drops the front didn't arrive until after 3:30pm when it got colder and windier. Most of the birds were away from the lake deeper into the woods. There was a good bit of activity in the silver maple woods area north of the birch woods in Villa Angela and also just east of the silver maple woods (off path). And there was also a lot of warbler activity apparently because of the wind direction all over the woods (off path to the north and southeast) in the Wildwood (up from the creek) which I haven't seen much there lately. There were multiple Parulas in both parks. Things slowed down after 1pm. I ran into Jeanne Hrenko who was in Villa Angela til after 11am and she located the first Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. Here are some of the birds seen today:

Black-crowned Night-Heron 1 adult
Turkey Vultures 6
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 1
Brown Creeper 1 seen by Jeanne
House Wren 2, Carolina Wren 1
Swainson's Thrush 10
Wood Thrush 1 (seen by Jeanne only)
Gray Catbirds ~ 8-9
Brown Thrasher 2
Cedar Waxwings heard only

Warblers:
Northern Parula 4
Magnolia 11
Black-throated Blue 3m
Yellow-rumped Warbler 1 (only warbler near lake)
Black-throated Green 1
Bay-breasted 1
Blackpoll 10
Black-and-White 4
American Redstart 14 (some adult males)
Ovenbird 1
Common Yellowthroat 3
Wilson's 4

White-throated Sparrows - small numbers
